Muralist, painter, illustrator. Cornwell was born in Louisville, Ky. in 1892. He attended the Chicago Art Institute and began his career as a newspaper and magazine illustrator. He painted murals for the lobby of the Eastern Airlines Building at Rockefeller Plaza, the Hotel Warwick's Raleigh Room, and the Los Angeles Public Library.
